The exhibition also presents modern technologies in steel forming, metal-cutting, finishing, milling, and heavy machinery, as well as other related engineering applications.

The prestigious event attracts world-wide attendance and participation of over 350 global firms and over 1000 leading international brands in the field.

Commenting on the event, H.E. Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah and Chairman of UFI’s MEA Chapter, highlighted Expo’s commitment to organize leading exhibitions that serve various industries. He also explained that these events foster Sharjah’s position as a regional hub for international events, while Expo Centre Sharjah remains dedicated to drive innovation and enhance performance to exceed clients’ expectations.

Mr. Al-Midfa explained that Expo Centre Sharjah has finalized its preparations for hosting SteelFab 2017. “We are honored to organize this leading exhibition for the 13th edition. Adding further, Mr. Al Midfa noted that many local and regional firms are looking forward to attend SteelFab to present and launch new technologies and products. This highlights the importance of the event for mega entities on local and regional level.

On another note, Mr. Al Midfa expressed the gratitude of Expo Centre Sharjah for SCCI for its ongoing support for all events hosted by the Centre, especially SteelFab which will be the first event in 2017 agenda. He also extended gratitude for sponsors and governmental entities that spared no efforts to ensure the success of the event.

SteelFab will be held amidst a positive business environment, as experts’ outlook for the industry in the Middle East predicts material growth in 2017. Experts anticipate steel demand to increase up to 55 million tons during 2017, with Arab investments of $100 billion.

Mr. Al Midfa also pointed out to the key role of the pioneering approach adopted by the UAE government for economic diversification aside from oil. This strategy fosters the importance of this event as more exhibitors aspire to materialize the increased demand in the UAE and the region. This increase is clearly seen in construction, production and infrastructure.

GCC countries, specifically the UAE, are willing to invest heavily in infrastructure projects. These projects require developing advanced equipment, and keeping pace with modern technologies in the market. For this, the world has dedicated $172 billion for infrastructure projects.

The exhibition has special focus areas for metal-cutting machine tools, welding & cutting, pipe & tube fabrication and wear resistance. It provides experts and businessmen with an ideal platform to review recent developments in the steel fabrication field that help companies enhance their products for construction, mining, and other sectors.

The show will be held at Expo Centre Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, from 16 to 19 January 2017 and the opening timings will be from 10 am to 7 pm daily. Admission is free and restricted to Trade & Professional visitors only.
