Middle East and Greece business:
Middle East Business meets with:Â Miltos Kambourides
Founder and Managing Partner of Dolphin Capital Partners
One of the themes at the recent ‘Introducing Leaders Strategic CEO Roundtable’ was promoting the New Greece. As a business leader representing ‘the next generation’, how would you describe Greeces tourism and property markets today?
With 16,000 km of coastline, 190,000 beaches, and 6,000 islands, Greece is still a global brand at the top of the list for travellers worldwide. Its iconic landscapes, cultural wealth, and strategic geographic location at the crossroads of Europe, Africa and Middle East will always make it a privileged destination.
In terms of investment, Greece still offers endless opportunities in tourism and real estate. Recent legislative changes aimed at stimulating economic recovery and improving the business climate contributed to shifting from red tape to red carpet. At Dolphin Capital we collaborate closely with the government in order to promote Greece as an investment destination.
What are the implications of the ‘permanent residency visa’ program on the housing market in Greece?
Through our affiliate, Aristo Developers in Cyprus, we have sold hundreds of homes to non-European citizens. Cyprus offers Schengen visas and residency permits to individual investors (and their families) acquiring real estate assets starting at €300,000. Last year, Greece implemented a similar program with the minimum investment amount set at €250,000. The first visas were recently issued to Chinese citizens but we are also targeting the Middle Eastern and Russian markets.
The Middle Eastern traveller is regarded as a high-end tourist. What does Dolphin Capital offer to the VIP Middle Eastern visitor?
Dolphin Capital is the owner of Amanzoe, Greece’s most exclusive and upscale resort located on the ‘Greek Riviera’. It was the first project branded by such a high-end hospitality company, as well as being the first to offer high quality residences for sale.
The fact that 100 percent of the first phase of residences (10 Villas) have already sold shows that the market for top-notch products exists and that this is the direction the Greek tourism sector should take.
As its founder and Managing Partner, what would you consider to be the most attractive options for potential investors looking into Dolphin Capital and what opportunities can emerge from mutual collaboration?
We are a global investor and one of the largest private seafront landowners in Greece and Cyprus.
We develop sophisticated leisure-integrated residential resorts of exceptionally high quality in regions of pristine beauty by partnering with the world’s most recognised architects, golf course designers and hotel operators such as Aman Resorts, Chedi, Oberoi, Kempinski, Ritz Carlton, Waldorf Astoria and Nikki Beach Resorts.
We have so far partnered with the world’s most recognised brands, designers and financial investors and we would welcome new partners from the Middle East.
