The Maritime Standard is pleased to announce that The Maritime Standard Awards 2022 will be held on Tuesday November 15th at the iconic Atlantis Ballroom in Dubai. Traditionally the event has fallen on a Monday, but this year to reflect the new weekend arrangements in the UAE the Tuesday has been chosen as the most convenient option.
The TMS Awards, which ever since their inception have been held under the patronage of Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President, Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Airline and Group, are by far the biggest maritime industry awards anywhere in the world. They attract over 800 top executives not only from across the region, but globally as well, to acknowledge and recognise high achievement within the sector. It is also the only event of its type that has continued to be held face to face throughout the pandemic, supporting the industry during difficult times.
As usual there will be around 20 awards presented for the various categories on the night. In addition, there will be a number of individual awards for particular personal achievements over many years. Nominations for the Awards open on 1st June 2022 and close on 15th August 2022.
Trevor Pereira, managing director, The Maritime Standard, says, “There is a real sense of momentum within the region, with some significant port investment projects underway, new ships on order and exciting technology developments underway. We have just seen the close of the highly successful Expo 2020 event in Dubai and we are building towards the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The Maritime Standard aims to build on that buzz and excitement to create a really special event that fully reflects the renewed appetite for face-to-face meetings and in person networking.”
