JCI Announces 2nd Regional Conference for SMEs

Under the patronage of his Excellency Prime Minister of Jordan Dr. Abdullah Ensour, Jordan Chamber of Industry announced the launch of the 2nd regional conference for Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to bring emphasis on the massive responsibility the Chambers of Industry and Commerce & Business Associations (CBAs) must take on to initiate, facilitate and promote the Public-Private Dialogue (PPD) in order to unleash the maximum possible potential of SMEs across the MENA region.

After the great success of the first conference, which tackled core issues facing the progress of SMEs, and emphasized the role of governmental organizations and CBAs in empowering the sustainability and growth of SMEs, JCI soughtthat the 2nd conference should take on another key issue that stands in the way of SMEs growth, empowerment & evolvement, which is the gap between public and private sectors that is created by lack of transparency and obscureness in communication and transactions.

On May 23rd, experts, heads of chambers of commerce and Industry and business associations, policy makers, as well as representatives of SMEs will convene at Le Méridien Amman to witness the launch and opening ceremony of the 2nd regional SME conference which is comprised of 5 sessions over a two-day period, each session takes on an important aspect, providing genuine, creative and innovative solutions that brings us closer to an ideal business environment.

Dr. Maher Al mahrouq – JCI Director General –when asked about the objectives and expected outcome, replied: “Our main goal is to create the best and most ideal business environment to empower our SMEs. But in order to achieve that goal, every CBA, policy maker, development agency, academic & training agency and all representative and service providers for SMEs to work together to remove all obstacles and tear down any wall that could negatively affect transactions and communications between them. I know it is not that easy, but it certainly is possible.”

“Our teams are working tirelessly on finding new approaches, taking all perspective into consideration, analyzing and studying every factor that can affect our economy, and I must say, the future is looking great.”

JCI, driven by their vision, which is to be the most influential chamber in serving SMEs, is dedicating all of their manpower, along with every resource available to provide a positive contribution towards the development of the industrial sector, providing financial services, communication and IT services, technical support services, along with market studies.
