AIM 2022 investment and startup awards to honour best IPOs and innovative business models
With the stage set for another vibrant session of the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM 2022), an initiative of the UAE Ministry of Economy, on March 29 – 31, 2022 in Dubai, what has been gathering increased attention is the special Investment and Startup Awards presented as part of the mega event. The announcement comes at a time the UAE aims to increase the size of its economy from Dh1.4 trillion to Dh3 trillion by 2030.
The AIM Investment Awards is a remarkable feature of the AIM. Over the years, it has become a hugely popular recognition of the best investment promotion agencies (IPAs) attracting the best investment project in a given year.
Startups will be honoured at this year’s AIM for innovative business model and brilliant application of technology for their business. This provides a unique opportunity for startup awardees to be recognised further by AIM global investors.
“It’s vital to offer Startups and SMEs with full assistance as they are instrumental in strengthening the economic growth and development. AIM 2022 will serve as a essential tool for Startups to receive support from the global investment community,” said Dawood Al Shezawi, President of the Annual Investment Meeting Organizing Committee.
Startups will get the benefit of abundance of opportunities as the AIM is supported by several Ministries and Government Departments, Special Economic Zones, Smart City Solution Providers, Venture Capitalists, Angel Investors and several financial institutions. AIM participants include government officials, private investors, venture capitalists and prominent businessmen and businesswomen seeking to explore new ventures and business partnerships.
The Startup Pillar of AIM 2022 is considered a vibrant platform for startups to kick off their business and raise seed capital at the project’s early stage by showcasing the business’ top-end revenue and growth potential.
Startups play a vital role in strengthening new industries and coming up with innovative ideas. They contribute significantly to economic development and job creation. By 2030, the number of startups globally is expected to increase and will create more than 600 million jobs.
On the investments front, IPAs have been at the forefront in promoting their locations for investments and play a critical role in advising governments on upcoming prospects and opportunities. As part of its activities AIM will explore how investment promotion is evolving and how the future of investment promotion will look like. The 2022 edition empowers FPI investors to engage in international diversification of their portfolio assets, thus helping them achieve a higher risk-adjusted return.
With the upcoming AIM evincing keen interest, one can expect a productive debate on investment policies and strategies for sustainable development to achieve smart and inclusive global growth.
