Increase in the Industrial Production Index (IPI) in Palestine

The overall IPI in Palestine with its Base Year (2019 = 100) reached 108.50 in 2022 which indicates an increase by 3.27% compared to 2021. IPI for 2022 increase due to the increase in the activities of Electricity, Gas, Steam and Air Conditioning Supply by 8.47%, the activities of Manufacturing Industry by 3.07%, and the activities of Water Supply, Sewerage, Waste Management and Remediation by 2.16%. While, the activities of Mining and Quarrying decreased by 6.70%. The table below shows yearly percent changes in IPI in Palestine for the period 2012 – 2022:

 Increase in the Industrial Production Index (IPI) in Palestine during December 2022 The overall IPI in Palestine reached 110.57 during December 2022 with an increase of 0.85% compared to November 2022 (Base Year  2019 = 100). IPI for December 2022 increased due to the increase in the activities of Electricity, Gas, Steam and Air Conditioning Supply by 13.90% which had a share of 7.38% of the total industry, and the activities of Manufacturing Industry by 0.10% which had a share of 87.89% of the total industry. While, the activities of Water Supply, Sewerage, Waste Management and Remediation decreased by 7.97% which had a share of 1.84% of the total industry, and the activities of Mining and Quarrying decreased by 5.31% which had a share of 2.89% of the total industry.
