ESCWA Supports Climate-Resilient Food Systems in Yemen

ESCWA, in partnership with Yemen’s National Convenor for Food Systems Transformation and the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD), held a capacity-building workshop on 13 July aimed at promoting more integrated, inclusive, and climate-resilient food systems in Yemen.

The workshop, titled “Advancing Coherent Climate and Food Systems Action in Yemen,” was organized in collaboration with the Food Systems Coordination Hub under ESCWA’s Bridging the Climate-Food Nexus project. The initiative seeks to help Arab Least Developed Countries (LDCs) align food systems transformation efforts with national climate action plans.

The event brought together government representatives from the food systems, climate, environment, agriculture, and water sectors, along with development partners and technical experts. Participants focused on strengthening national capacities, enhancing cross-sector coordination, and supporting Yemen’s efforts to advance coherent climate and food systems action throughout the project's implementation.
