Eco-Innovation Launch: Birzeit Grad's "B E" Project Takes Off

From Innovative Idea to Successful Eco-Project: Launch of "B E" by Birzeit University Continuing Education Graduate Mona Hanna, a graduate of Birzeit University’s Center for Continuing Education programs, launched her entrepreneurial project "B E" at Al-Quds University, marking the transition from development to real-world implementation.

This initiative exemplifies the integration of technological innovation with environmental solutions in the Palestinian context. Sustainable Design for Public Water Station The "B E" project features an eco-friendly water purification device functioning as a public station providing free, clean drinking water in public areas.

It includes a digital screen displaying environmental and social awareness content to reduce plastic bottle usage and promote sustainability. It also ensures access to safe drinking water, supporting solutions that protect the environment and public health. Idea Development through YEPISODE Program Mona developed her concept within the YEPISODE Program – Youth Empowerment for Promoting Innovation, Sustainability, and Digital Entrepreneurship in Palestine – implemented by the Center with Erasmus and support and led by UNIMED.

She earned second place in the YEPISODE Shark Tank competition by presenting a model blending tech innovation with environmental and social impact. The program offers specialized training tracks for youth empowerment.

Training Support from PENGON Network as recognition, Mona received a training opportunity from the Palestinian Environmental NGOs Network (PENGON), which provided practical mentorship for the project. The network identified its promising environmental potential, aiding the shift from prototype to application.
