Announcing the Trinkler Fellowship

A grant of CHF 50, 000 for free thinkers, autodidacts and dreamers

Melonport AG Co-Founder Reto Trinkler announces the Trinkler Fellowship [http://trinkler.sh/fellowship/]: A grant of CHF 50, 000 for free thinkers, autodidacts, and visionaries. A grant will be given to selected developers in order to enable them to build what they have to build for a duration of one year. The deadline for application for the fellowship is the 31 of December 2018.

The fellowship has been created with the hope of creating an alternative for kind, empathetic, and courageous individuals. It has a special affinity for open-source coders and university dropouts. Trinkler hopes with this fellowship to financially free up those individuals who would rather create world-changing technology than sit in a classroom or cubicle.

Trinkler, a university dropout himself, left his mathematics degree at ETH Zurich and went on to become a successful entrepreneur. Trinkler began his career building a successful trading algorithm for sports betting exchanges. He later co-founded Melonport AG where he currently works managing its technical division. He’s also on the Board of the Web 3 Foundation, led by Ethereum Co Founder Gavin Wood and as of January this year he has been named a Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe 2018: Finance.

Trinkler maintains a strong belief in individualized education and research projects, encouraging creativity and innovation. He believes that provided with the right funding to develop their tools, free thinking developers will be capable of fixing some of the key problems our world faces today using the technological platform the blockchain provides them with. By reducing the potential for clone-like mindsets that traditional systems can incur, Trinkler hopes to enable future generations to not only think in unique ways, but also to build tools that are beneficial to the collective good of society as a whole.

In a Recent interview with Swiss publication Zentral Plus, Trinkler stated that, “The blockchain cannot be undone.” With the Trinkler Fellowship, Trinkler is providing an opportunity for socially conscious individuals to ensure that what cannot be undone caters to the overall benefit of humanity as opposed to its regression.

The blockchain company Melonport AG was founded in July 2016 by Mona El Isa and Reto Trinkler. It was established with the intent of building Melon: a platform for technology regulated investment funds.
