Lagarde’s Call to “Walk the Talk”

Christine Lagarde, President of the European Central Bank, kicked off a fresh push for women’s financial literacy with the EuroSteps Walking Challenge in March 2026.

This pan-European initiative ties daily step-counting on your phone to short, digestible lessons on money matters, making learning feel effortless and fun.

Launched ahead of International Women’s Day, Lagarde stressed that too many women make lifelong financial choices without the tools they need, urging a close to the gender gap to let women truly control their futures.
