Pause for thought
With this fourth issue, Middle East Business News & Magazine enters its second year of existence. In the past we’ve showcased many topics of interest for our readers, such as unemployment, poverty and women in business.
With this fourth installment we are shedding light onto the current economic situation in Jordan, as well as other potential investment areas in the Middle East and North Africa region. We also discuss one of the most needed economic sectors – construction – and we’ve delved a little deeper into how it functions in Palestine and Jordan.
One of the key solutions to the ever-increasing levels of unemployment is entrepreneurship and it remains one of our core topics. In this issue, we’ve interviewed two well-known entrepreneurs, the first Mr Al-Khonji from Oman, and Mr Altuntas from Turkey. As part of this we’ve also looked at the issue of women (with children) and entrepreneurship – “Mumpreneurs”.
Middle East Business has looked into who benefits at the economic level from one of the biggest sporting events globally, the FIFA World Cup, which recently concluded in Brazil. Germany turned out to be the big winner on the pitch. However, we went further by kicking the ball towards the economic side of the game by putting the question on the table: Has FIFA scored a hat-trick while the host nation, Brazil, an own-goal?
We are also covering interesting subjects such as the tanneries of Morocco, Facebook shares, and launching a four-article series about Capital Markets another of our articles focuses on France and discusses its business relationship with the Middle East.
As We continue our growing international presence as media partner – across the Middle East and further afield. We were media partner at one of the biggest conferences for SMEs in the region, SMEs Regional Conference for Chambers & Business Associations “Drivers of Change” in Jordan; and media partner at the “Women’s Socio-Economic Empowerment Conference” in Spain alongside Radio Monte Carlo and France 24; we also partnered with both “Learning and Teaching in the Digital World Conference” and “Expotech” in Palestine.
In the coming two months we will be media partner for two events in United Arab Emirates, the first: “Government Performance and Benchmarking International Summit”, the second: “Business Transformation International Conference” as well as media partner at the “World Entrepreneurship Forum” in France. Finally, we are excited to announce that, along with other international partners, we partnered with “Introducing Leaders”, a high-level round table in Greece that will focus upon investing in the Middle East (the first roundtable took place in April this year).
